There are designated Shikara Ghats around the lake from where you can directly hire a boat. The two most popular Shikara Ghats are Nehru Park Ghat and Boulevard Road Ghat. At these ghats, you’ll find a line of Shikara owners willing to take you on a delightful ride. This option allows you to negotiate the price directly with the boat owner.
f you prefer a more personalized experience, you can hire a private Shikara for yourself or your group. The cost for a private Shikara ride is approximately INR 700 to INR 1,500 .
Dal Lake’s Shikara rides are available throughout the day, but the best time to experience the true essence of this enchanting place is during the early morning or late afternoon. The tranquil atmosphere and the magical reflection of the rising or setting sun on the lake’s surface create an unforgettable experience. Shikara rides are available from as early as 6:00 AM to around 8:00 PM in the evening.
