Here is why you should Visit Gurez Valley.

Gurez Valley is a Hidden Paradise located in Baramullah District of Kashmir,  Around  120 Kms away from Srinagar in  at an Altitude of 8,000 Feets.

The valley is surrounded by Snow-Capped peaks, Majestic Himalayas and lush emerald fields, and hasthe Kishanganga river – which merges with Jhelum River in Pakistan. The valley was hidden and unkown till 2017, after which it was opend up from tourism and Visitors.

 

What to See?

The Habba Khatoon Mountain peak is the star here, Named after a Kashmiri Poetess. 
The sun rays cutting through the mountain ranges bring a mystical touch to this attraction. The Habaa Khatoon Mountaun over looks Dawar.

The Razdan pass here is the only high altitude road between Srinagar and Gurez. The breathtaking landscape & view points are worth fir the bumpy road trip.

However its very important make some pitstop. Either to admire the scenic beauty or take some shots.

Peer Baba Shrine.

The Peer Baba Shrine mainted beautifully by locals & Army, the shrine overlooks the entire valley. 

The view of valley of from shrine will leave you in Spiritual bliss.

Kishanganga River.
Another famous water body of Gurez Valley is located along the banks of this river. The Kishanganga river merges with Jehlum river in Pakistan.

A sunrise at Kishanganga is known as most beautiful Sunrises in Kashmir.  you can join the locals if you’re interested in Fishing: then Trout -Fishing is a pretty popular sport here.

The Valley’s Central township is in DAWAR, a beautiful town complete with crooked wooden villages. Apart from health care centers – Fuel Pumps , ATMS and restaurants.

Gurez valley has both Govt and Private Hotels and Guest Houses.     The tourism department of J&K has set up varous hotels in Dawar that can be booked in advance. if you prefer stay in a Pvt Hotels then KAKA PALACE is good to go option. The valley also has many homestay options.

 

Must to Know?

Gurez valley is located close to IND-PAK border, for security reasons there are several check posts of Army and Police, However it is advisable to stick to main roads and not roam off-track. Moreover, you are required to carry ID Cards at all time to get through these check posts. 

 

Suggested Itinerary for Gurez Valley.

Day 1:- Arrival at Srinagar Airport and transfer to Dawar Gurez Valley.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Dawar and Local

Day 3:  Visit Haba Khatoon mountain and Peer Baba Shrine.

Day 4: Gurez Valley to Srinagar. 

Day 5: Srinagar Local Sightseeing and Airport Drop.
